Get Help From The National Fuel Funds Network

The National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (NEUAC) operates across the country. Below, you can find a list of the many resources that the coalition provides, including charities and government agencies. There are programs focused on conservation and programs that advocate for lower-income families.

Several organizations, including the National Fuel Funds Network, have recently merged to form this company. In addition to utility companies, charities, and non-profits, the network includes hundreds of organizations that operate in most states. Their programs help low-income people pay utility bills and become more energy efficient. They raise tens of millions of dollars for these programs every year. Additionally, the organizations advocate for charities and other groups to provide additional energy bill assistance to low-income families. The network comprises the largest gathering of professionals addressing low-income households and affordable heat issues.

Many studies have shown that seniors, the disabled, and low-income households pay a high portion of their income for their home energy needs. That family will be impacted, but these social issues will also impact every American. The government can directly or indirectly address these problems by increasing expenditures and taxes.

Many government and private studies have shown a link between unpaid utility bills and other consequences, such as disconnection, homelessness, malnutrition, and heatstroke. As a result, families start to disintegrate, including children being evicted from their homes due to loss of electricity, seniors having to sell their homes due to high energy bills, or parents moving more frequently because they cannot keep up with the energy bills, impacting a child's education and growth.

The National Fuel Funds Network does not provide direct financial assistance, but many of its members help those who qualify directly. Call 1-866-674-6327 for referrals to a program or agency that can provide grants and financial assistance for utility, heating, or gas bills.

Assistance Offered

This network offers a wide variety of private initiatives. National Fuel Funds Network members include community action agencies, independent fuel funds, faith-based programs, tribal governments, and utilities that sponsor payment plans and energy assistance programs. The project also benefits from contributions from several local governments, regional funds, and private donors.

Energy bill assistance is available through many companies, whether utilities or local non-profits, that are part of the National Fuel Funds Network. These funds are raised mostly through charitable contributions and fundraising events. Financial aid is typically used to supplement resources and aid provided by the federal government.

Moreover, they offer comprehensive information on government energy assistance, such as LIHEAP or FGEA. Eligible households can receive grants from LIHEAP to help pay for heating and cooling bills. These programs also provide information on conservation measures for energy efficiency.

Public and private energy assistance programs in America are managed by the organizations that make up the National Fuel Funds Network, or NFFN. Their main objective is to help people with low incomes cope with the ever-increasing home energy costs.

Programs vary in terms of what they offer, but three broad categories are as follows.

  1. Direct assistance from the government in paying the bill is offered. In addition, there are private Fuel Funds, applications for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP) from the federal government, or utility-sponsored programs.
  2. The National Fuel Funds Network strongly supports efficiency and weatherization programs as long-term solutions. Some are funded by private donations, while the US Department of Energy supports others. Using these resources will help low-income families lower the amount of energy they use and the number of utility bills they pay.
  3. A range of education programs is also available. Consumers will learn about budgeting, efficient energy use, and money-saving tips through these programs.

These resources are coordinated between the network and its member organizations to assist low-income customers and residents in the short and long term. Despite all the options available to low-income Americans, some struggle with disconnections each year.

Agencies, programs, and fuel networks

In addition to the National Fuel Fund Network, hundreds of other organizations comprise the network. Besides providing information on various grants for paying bills, payment plans, and conservation measures, they may also provide grants. Below is a list of locations in your respective state; you may also call 1-866-674-6327.
